The purpose of this course is to review the applicable Federal requirements for the safe planning, installation and removal of temporary traffic controls for construction and maintenance work zones. This program incorporate street diagram table-top exercises and hands-on training (initial level only) with temporary traffic control devices.
Upon completion of the course participants will be acquainted with the following information:
How to properly use temporary traffic control devices
Signs
Cones, delineators & barricades
Flashing arrow signs
Safe installation & removal of temporary traffic control zones
Advance warning & sign placement
Transition area(s) & tapers
Activity/work area
Termination area
Flagger Training
Table top exercises & outdoor hands on training
How to write and document a simple traffic control plan
Liability issues and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Student will receive one WATCH Book (reference only for refresher level), Course Materials and Certificate of Completion/Wallet Card.
